Atlantic Motorcar is fully equipped with the latest computerized diagnostic tooling for newer European autos and has fully trained our staff in the latest service technologies.

The system, what we call DAS (Diagnostic Assistance System), is actually a series of computers located on diagnostic service cart. The system communicates directly with your car's computerized systems through the diagnostic port and is connected to our wireless workshop network.

The DAS cart is plugged into the car's On Board Diagnostic (OBD) connection, and transmits the data to a dedicated computer located at the technician's work station. The computer uses factory software to display the diagnostic information, beginning with the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). DAS will show any faults that have been recorded in the car's computers so the technician may make the correct repairs instead of having to make an educated guess as to possible problems as in the past.

The DAS system can also communicate directly with the factory tech center via the Internet, which allows the technician to have the top diagnostic experts just a few keystrokes away. If newer software is available for the car's computers, that can also be downloaded and installed in the onboard computers.

This diagnostic system works on all European cars from 1999-on, and is continually updated to handle future models. Atlantic Motorcar is one of the first independent service facilities in the northeast to have developed the full DAS system. If your current service facility is not using such a system, we are happy to carry out the diagnostic work for them on your behalf.

This diagnostic service is a substantial investment on behalf of Atlantic Motorcar, including a yearly subscription fee, but we believe that it will be a great benefit to our service customers.
Indeed, servicing a European car without the full DAS system is quickly becoming impossible.
